Toro Shogun Slot Overview

A favorite odd couple in online slots is Toro, the enormous black bull, and his Matador friend. Wild Toro, released in 2016, was a hit with gamblers, and ELK Studios held a Wild Toro World Tour to honor the 5th anniversary, releasing Wild Toro 2, Book of Toro, and Toro 7s. If you were unhappy that the duo would hang up their traveling boots, fear not. Buffalo Toro arrived later. Toro and the Matador return in Toro Shogun, an online slot set in Japan.

ELK Studios’ Toro range’s variety of gameplay styles is cool. We’ve got the original, a ‘book of’ version, and a semi-‘Gold’ edition. A wonderful cartoonish style recreated the region of the rising sun with towering mountains, twisting trees, and fresh green soil. In addition, the house in the top right corner of the screen must have a stunning view, wonderful sunsets, and much to impress guests. A game with perfect audio and visuals is complemented with a subtle Eastern-inspired music.

In the centre is Toro Shogun’s game grid, which starts with 5 reels and 4 rows but may increase. Matching symbols from the leftmost side of the screen on adjacent diagonal or horizontal reels win. When a 5 OAK victory occurs, the Both Ways feature activates, paying left to right and right to left until the game round ends. At least one wild and falling symbols replace winning symbols. Winning reels grow by the amount of symbols eliminated, up to 10 high. Reels revert to default size after no wins. Max Rows may randomly stretch to 5 reels 10 rows high.

Toro Shogun, a medium-high volatility game, with a 94% return to player value when wagering 20 p/c to £/€100 each spin in normal mode or from the X-iter in bonus mode. Three Mah-jong-like dragon symbols, an orange with a dagger, a fan, a flower, and a Shogun figure are the lowest-paying symbols. A 5 OAK winning method pays 0.3-0.5x the bet low or 0.75-10x high. Any wild can replace any pay symbol to complete winning lines.

The slot game Toro Shogun has several features, including Toro the Walking Wild, Toro Goes Wild, Matador Respins, Shogun Mode, Bonus Game, and X-iter.

Toro Shogun: Slot Results

Toro Shogun combines online slot history, design expertise, and imaginative ideas like a roaring bull charging a Matador. Toro Shogun is a Wild Toro-Gold slot combo gone right. It shows ELK Studios’ ability to create grid expansion games, as it has done in other Kane slots and Nitropolis, with a lot of frills to make the experience seem new. If you appreciate ELK Studios’ look (but not the numbers), Toro Shogun nails it.

Probably better if you like Toro and the Matador. The bull charging human antics and Toro’s colorful symbols are as entertaining as ever. Selecting Connected Paylines over straight lines offers pros and cons. Not good since it may be harder to score those insane winnings that span much of the grid in some Gold slots, however Shogun Mode may assist. No complaints, just observing. Actually, none of Toro Shogun’s bonuses are bad. As the youngsters say, or used to say, Both Ways pays, two bonus games, and win/grid expansion are all nice.

The only small complaint (besides the RTP) is that the game isn’t very Toro-ish sometimes. The win ceiling is 25,000x the bet. Since the game is set in Japan, Toro the bull doesn’t hit much, and it lacks the sultry Spanish mood of its predecessors. A minor issue as Toro appears sometimes and Toro Shogun is a well-made game. It’s a class act in almost every way, from tiny things like animations matching sound effects. Toro Shogun is a must-see for Toro and Matador lovers.
